Dana White’s Contender Series is back in 2021, but not for the Summer. Instead, with The Ultimate Fighter returning, the show will primarily take place this Fall. The first card is August 31, and it will run every Tuesday until sometime in October. Even though it’s still months away the UFC is already sending out contracts and making fights. On the first show kicking off season five, sources have confirmed to Cageside Press that a heavyweight bout will take place with Lorenzo Hood taking on Lukasz Brzeski.

Lorenzo “The Dream Killer” Hood is from the Hawaiian Beaches but resides in Chicago, Illinois training out of the Chicago Fight Team. Hood began his MMA career back in 2009, and has now been in the sport for a little over a decade. He has no notable wins but has been in the cage with UFC heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes. After a number of setbacks, he’s now on a three-fight win streak.

Hood is 12-4 as a professional. He has finished all twelve wins by KO/TKO and all in the first round. Hood has also had a lengthy but odd career. He’s had three fights scored as a no contest and on Tapology he’s had eleven cancelled fights. Due to his kill or be killed style and still being only 32-years-old he’s earned a spot on the Contender Series.

Standing across from Hood will be Poland’s Łukasz Brzeski. Although Brzeski lives and trains in Poland he’s also cross-trained at Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, Sweden. He hasn’t been fighting as long as Hood but arguably has the better record. He’s also beaten decent competition.

Brzeski is 8-1 as a pro and has only gone the distance once. He’s the current Babilon MMA heavyweight champion. Babilon is a top promotion out of Poland right under KSW, and Brzeski, who is on a five-fight win streak over, has won four straight under their banner. He will take on the physical specimen that Lorenzo Hood for the opportunity of winning a UFC contract.
