Bellator 256: Dalton Rosta Feels He is Already a Top 10 Fighter

Dalton Rosta is set to face off against Tony Johnson this Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena as part of Bellator 256. The fight, which was first reported by Cageside Press, sees Rosta coming off a decision win over Ty Gwerder. That bout was the first time Rosta had gone to a decision in his professional career. With his undefeated record on the line, and a chance at getting another step closer to a ranking, or ranked opponent, Rosta isn’t feeling any pressure this week.

“No pressure at all,” Rosta began, speaking at a virtual media day ahead of the Bellator 256 card. “I’m going in there to get the win, I take it one fight at a time and going in to get the win this Friday.”

When asked about the idea of coming in as a size-able favorite, Rosta laughed it off and even couldn’t believe the odds were so high in his favor.

“Damn they are giving no respect to my opponent,” Rosta laughed. “I didn’t even know I was a favorite. Tony [Johnson] is a little better than that, but no added pressure. I’m getting a first round knockout and that’s that.”

The American Top Team fighter believes he is top 10 ready, and that his opponent is too. Essentially making this a top 10 fight in Bellator.

“I believe I should be a top 10 already,” Rosta told the media. “If anything he should be in the top 10 too, he knocked out Joe Schilling viciously. Once I beat him for sure I’ll be in the top 10, and I’ve got my eyes on a couple people.”

Dalton Rosa faces Tony Johnson at Bellator 256 this Friday, April 9 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT. The fight will air on the preliminary portion of the card, which is set to air online ahead of the main card on Showtime.
