UFC 260: Omar Morales Ready for Bigger Names at 145

Las Vegas, NV — In the opening bout of the ESPN preliminary card at UFC 260, Omar Morales (11-1) went the distance with Shane Young. The end result was a unanimous decision win for featherweight Morales — his third in the UFC overall. All three judges scored every round in his favor.

Reflecting on the bout, speaking to media outlets backstage at the UFC Apex, Morales noted that “[Young] only checked one of my kicks. The rest of my kicks, I noticed had hurt him. So he was the one who had to readjust his game plan.” Morales singled out his skills on the mat. “He also found out I was superior when it came to the ground game as well. So he was the one who found himself in a little bit of trouble there.”

Now 3-1 inside the UFC, Morales is looking to “fight against big names.” Of course, Saturday was his first win at featherweight, after starting his UFC run at lightweight. “But many more wins are coming after this one. I’m just keeping my head high, aiming high, and trying to get bigger names at each fight.”

“I’m ready at 145,” Morales added.
