JP Buys is a 2020 Contender Series alum (which was actually his 2nd appearance on the show) where he earned his contract by finishing Jacob Silva in the last 10 seconds of the first round of their bout. Buys was able to secure a guillotine choke.
JP Buys is a very good wrestler and has shown it against good competition thus far in his career. Buys has a great ability to keep control of his opponents while on the ground and not only land damage (as is evident with his multiple ground & pound finishes) but also to look for the submission on his opponents. Look for JP to take his opponent down and mount or take his back for his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 22.
