Jared Vanderaa has the very fitting nickname of “The Mountain.” At 6’4″ and every bit of 265lbs, Vanderaa is a very heavy-hitting fighter out of Dan Henderson’s Athletic Fitness Center. Vanderaa is very proficient on the ground with his wrestling and has a couple of submissions (though against largely subpar competition), but he has largely fallen in love with the power in his hands.

However, Jared has had plenty of fights against strong competition as he has been a veteran of both the LFA and EFC promotions. Vanderaa has huge power in his hands as the vast majority of his stoppages come by punches. He carries his power late into the fight, with four of his seven KOs/TKOs coming after the first round. Jared earned a UFC contract after a round one destruction of Harry Hunsucker on last year’s season of the Contender Series. “The Mountain” will be making his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 9 against Sergey Spivak.
