UFC bantamweight Cody Stamann has had a tough time locking down an opponent of late, but he appears to have one set. Stamann (19-3-1) has been booked to take on Andre Ewell (17-6) as part of the UFC’s February 6 event.

Cageside Press verified the booking, which has not yet been announced by the UFC, with a source close to the situation on Friday. BJPenn.com first reported the news.

Stamann had been expected to face Georgia’s Merab Dvalishvili back in December. However, after Stamann withdrew, the fight was rescheduled for February 6. Then, having contracted COVID-19, Dvalishvili was in turn forced out of the bout.

A Michigan native, Stamann is 2-2-1 in his last five fights. That stretch includes wins over Brian Kelleher (at featherweight) and Alejandro Perez, and a draw with Song Yadong. The losses have come to current 135lb title challenger Aljamain Sterling, and most recently, Jimmie Rivera this past July, in another featherweight contest.

Ewell, for his part, has won two straight, against Irwin Rivera and Jonathan Martinez. Both wins came via split decision.

The UFC’s February 6 event is set to take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. A heavyweight tilt between Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov is expected to headline. Currently, the card consists of the following match-ups:

Alistair Overeem vs. Alexander Volkov

Molly McCann vs. Lara Procopio
Marion Reneau vs. Macy Chiasson
Mike Rodríguez vs. Danilo Marques
Julio Arce vs. Timur Valiev
