Sam Hughes will be making her UFC debut at UFC 256 against Tecia Torres.
This fight is on extremly short notice as Tecia’s bout with Angela Hill was cancelled on Tuesday after Hill tested positive for COVID-19. Hughes got the call to step up on short notice, and because of that, she will be a fighter to watch on the scale.
Sam’s last fight was a catchweight bout at 120lbs. at LFA 93 in October of 2020. In Sam’s fight before that just three months prior she took on Vanessa Demopoulos for the vacant LFA strawweight title. Every other fight in Sam’s pro career has been in the flyweight division with the exception of one catchweight bout at 130lbs.
