Cage Fury FC is back in action on UFC Fight Pass this Wednesday. Making up for lost time, the promotion will hold two events back-to-back, with CFFC 89 airing Thursday. Now, let’s dive into what’s in store for the CFFC 88 main card.

First, Brett Floyd (4-2) vs. Shawn Stefanelli (4-3) will start off the night. Then, Chris Vasil (3-1) faces off with Fadi Shuman (3-1) in an exciting featherweight bout. Undefeated prospect Dilshod Zaripov (2-0) intends to keep the record perfect when he takes on Miguel Junior Diaz (2-1). Following the flyweights, Canadian prospect Claudia Baril (1-0) takes on fellow undefeated prospect, Criszaida Adames (2-0).

CFFC 88 Top of the Card

Additionally, the lightweight division will pit Josh Jackson (4-2) against Longo and Weidman product Nazim Sadykhov (3-1). Focus then turns to the co main event with, Vadim Ogar (6-3) taking on former UFC fighter Darrel Horcher (13-4). Finally, the main event of the evening will feature Tycen Lynn (7-4) versus Phil Caracappa (9-1) in an key bantamweight bout.

Breaking down the card:

Brett Floyd vs. Shawn Stefanelli

At first glance, both athletes appear to have the same amount of experience. But Stefanelli may have an edge in time spent in the cage. Even though the time spent resulted in a couple of unanimous decision losses, it likely taught him to push harder and impress the judges. Consequently, he won his following bout via split decision; albeit close, it was still a lesson learned. Opposite to Stefanelli, Floyd looks to impose his ground game. Floyd rocketed onto the amateur circuit with three slick submissions. Both bantamweight fighters have a lot to earn as they both look to expand their resumes.

Chris Vasil vs. Fadi Shuman

Featherweights strap on the gloves, with young upstart Vasil looking to outwork Shuman. In spite of that, Shuman’s ground game will be key to him picking up the win at CFFC 88. Especially reflected in his experience, Shuman’s cage generalship and ground game will pose problems for Vasil. Similar to the likes of Aljamain Sterling, Shuman likes to pick up submissions quick. The American displayed this aspect of his game when he finished his last two opponents by submission within ten minutes of competing.

Dilshod Zaripov vs. Miguel Junior Diaz

Once again, the fight features an undefeated fighter by the name of Zaripov. Conversely, Diaz has a nasty rear naked choke. With one of the best coaches in the game, Ray Longo assisting the Tajikistan native, Diaz has a tall task ahead of him.

Claudia Baril vs. Criszaida Adames

Unbeaten newcomers in Baril and Adames will compete at CFFC 88. The Canadian Baril has less experience compared to Adames, who stacked up a few wins on the amateur scene. Either way, based on unbeaten records and Adames’s five fight win streak, there’s pressure to perform for their respective future careers.

Josh Jackson vs. Nazim Sadykhov

With an incredible run to start off his amateur career, the Longo and Weidman team fits well with Sadykhov’s style. Riding a three fight win streak, Sadykhov will be looking to extend it against Jackson. A finishing machine, Jackson made a name for himself quickly by taking out opponents standing or through ground work. Overall this chess match will be exciting to witness and see what athlete adjusts in real time more effectively.

Vadim Ogar vs. Darrel Horcher

After a stint in the UFC, Horcher returns to the organization that put him on the map. Facing the hardened UFC vet is the Russian lightweight Ogar. Despite this bout being a bounce back affair for both fighters, each of them have faced fierce competition. For instance, Horcher took a loss to the lightweight great Khabib Nurmagomedov. Ogar on the other hand, learned in his loss to Sodiq Yousuff. As a result, Ogar’s kickboxing has sharpened. All in all, the experience collected by legitimate contenders will assist both athletes’ futures.

CCFC 88 Tycen Lynn vs. Phil Caracappa

Caracappa started his professional career on fire, picking up eight wins before hitting a wall against Ricky Steele on Dana White’s Contender Series. Since then, the New Jersey native won his last bout via decision in August earlier this year. Trying to pick up another win, Lynn’s bantamweight journey has been rocky. However, at CFFC 88 he has the chance to redeem himself and direct his career in the right direction. Headlining the card for a reason, Caracappa and Lynn are sure to deliver the goods.

Cage Fury FC goes down live on UFC Fight Pass on November 18, kicking off at 7PM ET.
