Bellator’s Featherweight Grand Prix resumes this week, starting with Bellator 252, and continuing on a week later. Months after the tournament was put on hold, it’s a welcome return for fighters vying for a million dollars — not to mention the featherweight championship, currently held by Patricio Pitbull.
At Bellator 252, Pitbull (Patricio Freire, properly) is set to put his belt on the line against Pedro Carvalho. A fight that the champion essentially hand-picked, using his wild card status during the selection show late last year.
Also in action Saturday is the other quarterfinal still remaining, featuring Emmanuel Sanchez in a rematch against Daniel Weichel. The two first met in 2016, with Weichel earning a three-round split decision. This time out, however, it will be a five round affair (as all the grand prix bouts remaining will be).
Weigh-ins for the event take place Wednesday morning, with a ceremonial weigh-in at 11AM, following the official trip to the scales. Check below for results. The ceremonial weigh-ins can be viewed in the embed above.
