Diego Sanchez has been around the UFC a long time. Diego beat all 3 of his opponents on TUF Season 1 before winning the finale in 2005 to make it into the UFC. Amazingly, Diego competed at 185lbs on the show.

After winning the show Diego immediately dropped to the welterweight division, winning 7 of his next 9 fights before dropping down to lightweight in early 2009.

Sanchez achieved his highest standing in the UFC rankings when he was the number two lightweight fighter in the world back in late 2009 ahead of his world title bout with BJ Penn.

Diego returned to welterweight division with mixed results before returning to lightweight again and beginning to see weight cutting struggles.

Diego actually went down to featherweight for one fight during his UFC career in 2015 in a losing effort against Ricardo Lamas.

Diego fought in his last lightweight bout back in April of 2017 when he was finished by Al Iaquinta in the first round. Since then Diego has been in the welterweight division, amassing a 3-2 record during this stint at the weight.
