Lightweight Drew Dober is set to return to the octagon against Carlos Diego Ferreira.
Dober (23-9, 1NC) and Ferreira (17-2) are set to face off on the UFC’s November 7 card, according to a report by ESPN. The event, which has not been officially announced, does not have a location set, but is anticipated to be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On Monday, Dober verified the booking on social media.
The pair were previously scheduled to meet in May, prior to the coronavirus pandemic causing a host of cancellations, postponements, and re-bookings.
When they finally do meet, both Dober and Ferreira will be looking to build on solid win streaks. Dober has won his last three fights, against Marco Polo Reyes, Nasrat Haqparast, and Alexander Hernandez. Impressively, Dober earned finishes in each of those fights, earning Performance of the Night bonuses in two of the three. Only his fight against Hernandez left the opening round.
Ferreira himself has won six straight, with three of those coming via some form of finish — two TKOs and a submission. In his last outing, Ferreira finished former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis by rear-naked choke at UFC 246, earning himself his own Performance of the Night bonus in the process.
Currently expected for the UFC’s November 7 card are the following bouts:
Brendan Allen vs. Ian Heinisch
Vanessa Melo vs. Sarah Moras
Kyle Daukaus vs. Dustin Stoltzfus
Trevin Giles vs. Bevon Lewis
Max Griffin vs. Ramiz Brahimaj
