The five things that stand out the most:

  • Good wrestling
  • Heavy overhand right
  • Heavy top position
  • Aggressive
  • Good ground and pound

Where does Fitikefu excel?

Fitikefu is primarily a wrestler. Everything he throws and does on the feet is to lead his way into a takedown. Isi has an aggressive and relentless pace with effective chain wrestling to get the fight to the mat. Once on top he has finished with a submission and ground and pound but relies more on his heavy top position. He’s contempt on riding positions for a round and just staying busy enough with short strikes to not just win but dominate rounds. Compared to his first pro fight, his cardio has improved being able to sustain his pace much more effectively. On the feet, Fitikefu has big power in his right hand (overhand) being a loaded gun that has put two opponents to sleep.

Where does Fitikefu need improvement?

Fitikefu does have that overhand right when it comes to striking but that’s about all. He’s low output on the feet mainly throwing single strikes to just close the distance. He has the power but not the technical ability. As I said above he tends to ride a position and he can do that too long especially in full guard. As that is fine and all but sitting in the guard of an opponent that knows what they are doing, you are putting yourself at risk of getting caught in a submission. With that said, he was caught in a deep triangle before but was able to power his way out.

Ceiling – High or Low

Low. I hate to give an answer like that but if I had to give my final decision it would be a low ceiling. I’m on the fence with Isi however. I will say Fitikikefu has improved in a lot of areas, including his gas tank and improving his footwork. Being mainly a wrestler I’m not impressed with his ability to close the distance and he usually has trouble getting the fight to the mat. Even when he gets it down, although his top position is good he’s quite stiff and as stated above he likes to sit in the guard too much. I’m not completely writing off Isi at all but just not on his side at the moment.
