When the UFC returns to Las Vegas this weekend — where it will spend the entire month of August hosting both Contender Series and UFC events at the Apex — it will bring with it an interesting clash of styles.

UFC Vegas 6 is topped by heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik, who could not have more vastly different approaches to fighting. While Lewis is power and aggression, Oleinik is the crafty “Boa Constrictor,” luring opponents in then striking at just the right moment, squeezing the fight right out of them.

In the UFC, that apprach has worked against the likes of Maurice Smith, Travis Browne, Mark Hunt, and more. In fact, Oleinik has fifty-nine wins heading into this weekend’s Fight Night card, and he’d no doubt love a name like Lewis for the even sixty.

Lewis, who previously fought Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight title, has won decisions in his last two fights, against Blagoy Ivanov and Ilir Latifi.

Check back Friday morning starting at 12AM ET for full results from the UFC Vegas 6 weigh-in.

Three fighters missed weight Friday morning — Beneil Dariush, Tim Means, and Laureano Staropoli. Coincidentally, Means and Staropoli are fighting each other.
