When the fight between Robert Whittaker and Darren Till was first announced, fan excitement level was turned way up. Not only because of the skills that would be tested between the two middleweight contenders inside the Octagon, but because of the fun banter the two had back and forth on social media.

Unfortunately, the fight was cancelled due to the Coronavirus. But sometimes us fight fans have all the luck in the world and this amazing match-up was not lost in the “what if” game. The intense stare downs leading up to the fight indicated to the world that the social media fun was now over and it was time to get down to business.

For both men, a victory on Fight Island could punch their ticket to potentially line them up for a fight between the winner of current middleweight champ Israel Adesanya and number one contender Paulo Costa.

Robert Whittaker knew a fight with Darren Till was going to be tough, and throughout the five rounds it was a toss up who was the victor. In the eyes of the judges, Whittaker got the well-earned victory.

With the final fight on Fight Island in the books, the pros react to this competitive main event.
