Banger alert: the UFC has added Gavin Tucker vs. Justin Jaynes to their August 8 card.

That card is set to be headlined by heavyweights Derrick Lewis and Aleksei Oleinik. Assuming Nevada doesn’t lock down again due to the coronavirus, the Fight Night event is likely to take place inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

And it has a very fan friendly bout in Tucker vs. Jaynes, which was first reported by Bloody Canvas.

Canada’s Tucker (11-1) burst onto the featherweight scene in the UFC by absolutely dismantling Sam Sicilia. However, later that year, he suffered a tough loss to Rick Glenn, and sat out all of 2018 dealing with injuries. He got back in the octagon last year at UFC 240 in Edmonton, however, earning a submission win over Seung Woo Choi.

The East Coast fave will now get a fighter who made his own red-hot debut just weeks ago. Justin Jaynes stepped up on extremely short notice to knock out Frank Camacho at UFC Vegas 3 on June 20. In doing so, he picked up a Performance of the Night bonus, and no doubt a number of new fans.

Jaynes (16-4) had previously competed for Bellator MMA and the World Series of Fighting. Most recently, however, he’d been fighting under the lesser-known WXC banner.

In any case, this one has bonus written all over it.
