Looking to shake off a recent skid, UFC strawweight Hannah Cifers will meet Mallory Martin next month. MMADNA was first to report the pairing, which will feature on the promotion’s August 29 card.

That event does not yet have an official title. However it is expected to be held in the UFC’s home base of Las Vegas, Nevada, barring any complications from the coronavirus pandemic, which appears to be surging in multiple U.S. states.

Cifers (10-6) is in the midst of a three-fight skid at the moment, having dropped fights to Angela Hill, Mackenzie Dern, and Mariya Agapova. The latter two have come during the pandemic, meaning this will be Cifers’ third fight since the coronavirus hit North American shores.

Mallory Martin (6-3) made her promotional debut last December, falling to fellow Invicta FC alum Virna Jandiroba via second round submission (rear-naked choke). Prior to that loss, she had collected five straight wins, with appearances under the Invicta FC and Dana White’s Contender Series banners among them.

Martin made her professional debut in 2016, and has also competed for LFA. It was in that promotion where she faced another future UFC fighter, Maycee Barber, at LFA 22. She lost the fight by unanimous decision — her final loss prior to her UFC debut.
