The third of four Fight Island shows goes down this Saturday in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. UFC Fight Island 2 is set to be headlined by a rematch in its main event, as Joseph Benavidez will once again go up against Deiveson Figueiredo with the UFC’s flyweight title on the line.

If that sounds a little familiar, it’s because it’s the exact same scenario that took place at UFC Norfolk back in February. Benavidez and Figueiredo were set to collide for the 125lb belt vacated by Henry Cejudo.

However, come weigh-in the day before the event, Brazil’s Figueiredo missed weight, for the first time in his UFC career. That disqualified him from winning the title, even if he did defeat Benavidez — which he did, knocking the popular flyweight out in the second round.

And so Figueiredo had won the fight, but lost the battle. And flyweight moved on without a champion.

This weekend, that should change. The pieces are all in place. Benavidez and Figueiredo will run it back. And should someone miss weight, Alexandre Pantoja has been given the nod as a replacement fighter.

Weigh-ins for the event will take place Friday morning. Tune in starting at 9AM ET for updates!

There were no misses Friday — the full card made weight, in roughly forty minutes.
