Grant Dawson has looked near flawless since appearing on the radar of UFC fans back in 2017 on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. Grant rolled through Adrian Diaz, finishing him in the second round with a rear-naked choke in order to get a UFC contract. Dawson, who trains at Glory MMA & Fitness, has fellow UFC fighter James Krause in his corner who is a very smart, well-rounded fighter that could teach a lot to a young fighter like ‘The Prophet’.

Dawson has very high-level grappling and jiujitsu skill and as a result, all 3 of his submission finishes with the UFC have been by rear-naked choke. Dawson actually has 4 more wins by rear-naked choke outside of the UFC as well. Dawson is just 26 years old but is truly a bright prospect in the featherweight division despite missing weight in his last bout, and possibly needing to move up in weight pretty soon. Dawson has a whole lot of potential and it should be a fun fight to watch at UFC Fight Island 2 on July 18.
