Dan “The Hangman” Hooker (20-8 MMA, UFC)
Featherweight (145lbs): 3-3 (UFC)
Lightweight (155lbs): 7-1 (UFC)
Dan Hooker has been in the UFC since 2014 and began his career with the organization in the featherweight division. Dan Hooker has very long arms for his size standing at 6’0″ and has a 75.5″ reach, which is a physical advantage that was very apparent during his time 145lbs. Hooker, now 30, took his first fight at lightweight in the UFC at 27 years old.
Dan Hooker was on the wrong side of a few unanimous decisions at 145lbs in the UFC before deciding to move up to lightweight in June of 2017. ‘The Hangman’ lost to some solid competition though, like Jason Knight and Yair Rodriguez, but ultimately had to move in a different direction in order to find more success. Hooker obviously made the correct decision to eliminate his excessive weight cut because immediately following his move he racked up four finishes against some very solid competition in Ross Pearson, Marc Diakiese, Jim Miller, and even Gilbert Burns. Dan has three wins out of his last four, with his lone loss at welterweight coming to Edson Barboza.
