UFC on ESPN 10: Andre Fili on Movie Gig, Danger Charles Jourdain Poses

Ahead of UFC on ESPN 10, Andre Fili has been a busy man. Of course, he’s had to prepare for his fight with Charles Jourdain, a former dual-weight champion in Canadian promotion TKO.

Beyond that, there’s also been the premiere of Green Rush, his on-screen acting debut. The flick was produced by UFC Hall of Famer and Team Alpha Male coach Urijah Faber, and released under the Lionsgate label.

For Fili (20-7), an avid movie buff, the acting gig was a great experience.

“It’s been cool, man. The reception’s been good. The movie’s been good. I really enjoyed the movie, I’m a huge movie nerd,” he told Cageside Press during the UFC on ESPN 10 media day. “So being part of a movie like that, where I actually got to act a little bit, it wasn’t gimmicky, it was a real movie and I got to play a real character, it was a blessing. It was a very cool experience, and I can’t wait to do more.”

Movie stardom may await Fili in the future. In the short term, however, there is Jourdain to contend with. On that subject, “Touchy” Fili explained what makes his upcoming opponent so dangerous.

“He’s aggressive, he spams flying knees, you gotta watch out for that,” observed Fili. “He seems to be pretty athletic, and he believes. Every shot he throws, you can tell he believes in his striking.”

“I’m excited to put that to the test,” Fili added. “I’m excited to beat him.”

UFC on ESPN 10 takes place this Saturday, June 13 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, NV.  The card airs live on ESPN and ESPN+ (TSN in Canada).
