Fabricio Werdum has world-class Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with a second-degree black belt in the martial art under Octávio Couto. Fabricio is a 2-time Abu Dhabi Combat Club (ADCC) Submission World Championships gold medal winner and 4-time International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) World Jiu-Jitsu Championship Winner.

So it’s safe to say Fabricio’s X-factor is his Brazilian jiu-jitsu and grappling skills. These skills often leave his opponents open to being finished by strikes. Fabricio Werdum has finished 11 fighters by submission in his pro career and has also racked up 6 KO/TKO wins. Under the UFC banner, Fabricio has 4 submission victories. During his time in the promotion over multiple stints, ‘Vai Cavalo’ was also able to capture the UFC Heavyweight Championship and matured as a striker as well. Werdum stopped UFC champion Cain Velasquez, via guillotine choke to win to become the UFC heavyweight champion. While under the Strikeforce professional fighting banner, Fabricio finished the best heavyweight of all time, Fedor Emelianenko via triangle armbar. Werdum truly has one of the most storied heavyweight careers of all time, featuring some amazing submission finishes, and at UFC 249, is fighting for the first time in two years because of a USADA suspension.
