Legendary kickboxer John Wayne Parr (Muay Thai, kickboxing and boxing 110-37-1, 56 KO) could not stay away for long as he has signed a contract to join the ranks of the ONE Championship roster.

Parr made the news of his signing with ONE official on social media through his personal Instagram.

The fighting spirit that lives within The Gunslinger seemingly couldn’t be suppressed while he was retired, as he went on to say in another post.

Parr has not competed since August 18, 2019 and didn’t fare too well in his last few outings before retirement, as he had back-to-back decision losses at Bellator Kickboxing 9 against Eder Lopes and again at RIZIN 18 against Danilo Zanolini. However he seems to think that the time away is what his body needed to let his hip finally heal.

The talent lining up to fight The Gunslinger could be endless as young fighters might see the potential of how glorious it would it be to add a legend’s name to their resumes on their hunt for championship gold.

There is no word on when Parr is expected to make his ONE Championship debut.
