Bellator flyweight prospect Alejandra Lara will be the latest MMA fighter to join the Spanish reality competition show Exatlon as the next season kicks off on January 20.
Top Bellator prospect Alejandra “Azul” Lara will be following in the footsteps of several MMA fighters as she joins the popular Spanish reality competition show Exatlon on January 20. The flyweight recently revealed her participation as the full cast was announced for the upcoming season of the show.

In the same vein as MTV’s The Challenge, Exatlon isolates contestants from the outside world for several weeks as they compete to avoid elimination in a series of physical and mental challenges and obstacle courses. The show is considered one of the most successful and well-known programs on Spanish language television and frequently draws high ratings on Telemundo. Lara will be part of Team Famosos (Team Celebrities) as she competes with other athletes and stars from the world of sports and entertainment.
Lara, 25, is best known for her five fights in Bellator where she has already taken on top competition like current champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Julianna Velasquez. She most recently notched the most impressive win of her career, a thrilling victory over former title challenger Veta Arteaga last month in Bellator’s second trip to Hawaii. Lara also recently signed a new multi-fight contract with Bellator. The timing of her participation also figures to be well-timed as current champion Macfarlane is on a promotional tour and Bellator is deciding whether another title defense or a tournament is next for the women’s flyweight division.
The reality competition has recently become known for drawing in several notable names from the world of mixed martial arts. Current UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal famously went on the show in 2018 before going on his recent run that pegged him as a candidate for Fighter of the Year. Former two-time UFC middleweight title challenger Yoel Romero and Bellator flyweight Valerie Loureda also participated on the show (in different seasons) in 2019. All three fighters notably performed well and lasted long into the competition.
Lara’s season of Exatlon will begin on Monday, January 20 at 7/6 C on Telemundo.
