Two more bouts have been added to next month’s UFC Auckland, headlined by Dan Hooker and Paul Felder.
The UFC Auckland card appears to be near completion. Wednesday, the New Zealand Herald was first to report the addition of two more bouts: at strawweight, Loma Lookboonmee will face Hannah Goldy, while Maki Pitolo and Takashi Sato will throw down at welterweight.
The Herald also notes that a promising scrap between Tyson Pedro and Vinicius Moreira has been cancelled, after Pedro was forced to withdraw. Pedro had previously confirmed at injury was behind him dropping off the card.
Goldy (5-1) is a Contender Series veteran who defeated Kali Robbins in front of Dana White and co. back in June. She made her UFC debut opposite Miranda Granger at UFC on ESPN 5 in August, losing a unanimous decision.
For her sophomore outing, she’ll face Lookboonmee (4-1), also making her second trip to the octagon. A former Invicta FC fighter, Lookboonmee, the first Thai fighter to sign with the promotion, defeated Aleksandra Albu last October.
Lookboonmee is also a decorated Muay Thai fighter.
Maki Pitolo (12-5), with the absolutely awesome nickname of ‘Coconut Bombz,’ is another Contender Series product. While he came up short in his octagon debut at UFC 243 back in October, he’ll get another chance against Japan’s Takashi Sato. Sato (15-3) is 1-1 in the UFC to date, but is coming off a loss to Belal Muhammad at UFC 242.
UFC Auckland (UFC Fight Night 168) takes place February 23, 2020 at the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. The card is headlined by lightweights Paul Felder and Dan Hooker. With these most recent additions, the event breaks down as follows:
