Bellator’s inaugural trip to Japan, Bellator 237, went down Saturday night at the Saitama Super Arena. And it was certainly an evening to remember.
As most have heard by now, the main event saw Fedor Emelianenko, looking to be in fine form, knock out a less-than-svelte looking Rampage Jackson. The former UFC and PRIDE champ, normally a 205lb’er, entered the fight at 265lbs, a first for his long career. The weight showed, as Jackson looked slower than usual. Soon enough, ‘The Last Emperor’ had him under siege, finally dropping him with a punch.
Michael Chandler and Michael Page, leading up to the main event, both earned knockouts in their respective fights. Lorenz Larkin, meanwhile, made his case for a welterweight title shot by defeating former UFC fighter Keita Nakamura.
