Strawweight champ Joshua Pacio will defend his belt at home against Brazil’s Alex Silva at ONE Championship’s Fire & Fury card next month.
ONE Championship strawweight title holder Joshua Pacio has his next title defense set. 23-year old Pacio, in his second reign in the division, will put the belt on the line against Brazil’s Alex Silva at ONE’s Fire & Fury card in Manila, Philippines.
The promotion announced the news Thursday via press release, in addition revealing a chunk of the card for the January event.
Pacio (18-3) is coming off his first defense of the belt, opposite Rene Catalan last month. The second round submission followed up a fouth-round knockout against Yosuke Saruta in April, the fight which saw Pacio reclaim his belt from the Japanese fighter, who dethroned him in their first meeting.
Silva (9-4), meanwhile, has won two straight under the ONE banner, with both wins coming via submission.
A couple of other ONE standouts will also appear on the card. Former lightweight champ Eduard Folayang (22-8) will face Ahmed Mujtaba (8-2) of Pakistan, while former flyweight title challenger Danny Kingad (13-2) will look to bounce back from a loss to Demetrious Johnson against Xie Wei (5-2).
