Dana White’s Contender Series has two more episodes to go in its current season, with week nine weigh-ins taking place Monday at the UFC Apex.

The Contender Series is quickly coming to an end this season, but there are still two more episodes to go. Week 9 of Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3 was set to go down Tuesday, August 20, with the weigh-ins a day earlier of course. That meant that all fighters were set to hit the scales Monday morning in Las Vegas — and all eyes would be on Leon Shahbazyan. Shahbazyan was expected to fight earlier this season, but was forced out at the 11th hour for medical reasons.

He was re-booked for Tuesday, against a new opponent. Brok Weaver, his original opponent, had earned himself a UFC deal a week earlier, and now, Shahbazyan was set to return against Philip Rowe. Rowe would enter the affair on a five fight win streak, and impressively, all five wins had come via finish. Shahbazyan, 7-1 overall, was the winner of three straight.
