The estranged husband of Andrea Lee has finally been nabbed by the police, nine months after an alleged domestic violence incident involving his wife.

Andrea Lee has been trying to focus on her MMA career, but distractions in her personal life certainly haven’t made that easy. For nearly nine months, her estranged husband has been on the run for the law. However, on Thursday, that situation finally came to an end, as police confirmed that Donny Aaron had been arrested, and was booked into a Shreveport, Louisiana jail.

MMA Junkie was first to report the news. Records obtained by Cageside Press show that Aaron was booked Wednesday, May 29 in Shreveport on outstanding warrants related to a domestic dispute with Lee, who was the LFA flyweight champion and a standout in Invicta FC before jumping to the UFC. Aaron served as her coach throughout much of her career.

Aaron is currently being held on charges of Misdemeanor Domestic Abuse (Battery) and False Imprisonment. Bond for the two charges was listed at $2500.

Lee (10-2), known as ‘KGB’ for her Russian-esque looks (she was born in Texas), found herself the victim of a nasty domestic quarrel last August. A statement from witness, roommate, and fellow fighter Andy Nguyen indicated that Aaron had abused Lee in the past. In the August incident, she alleged Aaron had attempt to choke his wife.

The 43-year old had also courted controversy after an image surfaced showing hate-inspired tattoos Aaron had picked up in prison. He had been previously incarcerated for killing a man, after being found guilty of negligent homicide in 2009.

Lee last fought at UFC on ESPN 1 in Phoenix, AZ earlier this year, picking up a unanimous decision win over Ashlee Evans-Smith. She’s expected to return to action at UFC Greenville next month, where she will face Montana De La Rosa.

Update, 05/31: Per an additional report by MMA Junkie, Aaron was stopped in Upshur County, Texas by police for speeding in a school zone. After finding marijuana in his possession, he was arrested and extradited to Louisiana, where he was booked into the Shreveport city jail.

Lee is currently in the process of divorcing her estranged husband.
