UFC middleweight Cezar Ferreira is off the UFC London card, where he had been expected to fight Tom Breese.

Middleweight Cezar Ferreira has been forced from the UFC London card. On Friday, the Brazilian fighter announced that a knee injury would force him to stop training for several weeks. That puts the kibosh on his planned scrap with Tom Breese at the event.

UFC London, a.k.a. UFC Fight Night 147, takes place March 16 at the O2 Arena in London, England.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ferreira has been fighting in the UFC since 2012. With a career record of 13–7, ‘Mutante’ is coming off a loss to Ian Heinisch at UFC Argentina in November. Prior to that, he’d racked up a two-fight win streak.

Writing on Instagram, Ferreira said explained that “unfortunately I won’t be able to compete in UFC London on March 16.” In way of explanation, he added “I injured my right knee and because of that I won’t be able to train for the next three weeks so, I won’t have enough time to prepare myself for this fight. I just want to apologize with all my fans and also my opponent, and soon I will be back stronger than ever thank you!!”
