BOOM MMA Returns to the Indian MMA Scene

The Indian MMA landscape has added another promotion, with BOOM MMA returning to India in January.

BOOM MMA announced its return to India on December 14, 2018. Considered as one of the largest promotions in East-India, BOOM has been an important part of the MMA business in India and is one of the few promotions that actually holds steady and safe events in India. Established way back in the year 2012 as Fighting King Championship, it was the first promotion to introduce pro MMA fighting in the city of Kolkata.

The promotion is set to return to the MMA scene in January 2019, with a two-day event from the 12th to the 13th. The event will take place in Hotel Stadel in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The most exciting part about the card is the debut of Vishal Balmiki. Balmiki is a grappling artist who has gained attention in the Indian Martial Arts world because of his ability to leg lock opponents. He fights out of the Taponomics fight team and is also a national-level silver medalist in grappling. The card will also see the likes of former SFL fighter Ateet Kelvin Gupta return to action. He will take on Baryalai from Afghanistan.

The fight card released so far is:

Ateet “The Face ” Gupta vs Baryalai (Afghanistan)

Sahil Akram vs Omid Azmi (Afghanistan)

Sahil Kabir vs Manjoor Alam (Bangladesh)
Ishaan vs Habib Parves (Bangladesh)
