UFC Moncton’s roster of fighters kept the mood light Friday morning in Moncton, New Brunswick — and the card is official!

Moncton, NB — UFC Moncton is official! Friday morning, the official (and only) weigh-ins for what is otherwise known as UFC Fight Night 138 took place. With all twenty-six fighters stepping on the scale, there was one fight, and one fighter, fans were keeping an eye on: Artem Lobov vs. Michael Johnson. Johnson had stepped up to take the fight on just two weeks notice, replacing Zubaira Tukhugov in the co-main event. On Thursday, he told those present, including Cageside Press, that he was 175lbs when he accepted the fight.

That brought his weight cut into question, and for good reason. Opponent Artem Lobov, meanwhile, stated he’d refund any fine money to Johnson should ‘The Menace’ miss weight.

In the end, that’s exactly what happened. Johnson missed by a single pound, and was not given an extra hour to make weight, having weighed in at the very end of the time afforded. While there was talk of the scale backstage being a half pound or so off from the official scale, it mattered not in this case, as Johnson was a full pound over without his shorts.

The remainder of the card made weight without issue, though initially due to an error reading the scale, the commission announced Nasrat Haqparast as being over. He was not.

Check below for highlights from today’s weigh-ins, which turned out to be a jovial affair for the most part! Or catch up with the weigh-in results and an archived live stream.
