ONE Championship returned to Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday with their most recent event, Total Victory. Featuring a main event showdown between former flyweight champion Kairat Akhmetov and Geje Eustaquio, the event turned out to be an exciting night of fights (or morning, if you got up in the west to take in the action). Not sticking entirely to MMA, the show also saw a traditional Silat bout open the festivities.
In the main event, Kairat Akhmetov edged out Geje Eustaquio by split decision in a three round battle which put the ex-champ back in the win column. With every other bout on the main card ending in a finish, there were plenty of stand-outs to choose from, but perhaps heavyweight Alain Ngalani stood out most, crushing Japan’s Hideki Sekine with a single punch as the Japanese heavyweight charged towards him, looking for a takedown.
Also of note, Roy Doliguez capped off a fantastic scrap with a come from behind knockout of Brazil’s Yago Bryan in the third and final round of their strawweight contest.
