UFC Sao Paulo has had a stellar light heavyweight affair added to its card. During tonight’s UFC Mexico City broadcast, the promotion announced that former title challenger Glover Teixeira would face Canadian standout Misha Cirkunov at the event, booked for Sao Paulo, Brazil on October 28. Numerically, the event is UFC Fight Night 119.
Teixeira (26–6) is coming off a stoppage loss to Alexander Gustafsson this past May. The one time title challenger is 1-2 in his last three fights, having also been finished by Anthony Johnson. Sandwiched between the Gustafsson and Johnson fights was a win against Jared Cannonier at UFC 208.
Misha Cirkunov (13–3), meanwhile, recently had his 4-fight win streak in the UFC stopped when he suffered a knockout loss to Volkan Oezdemir at UFC Fight Night 109 — the very same card Teixeira fought at in his loss to Gustafsson.
Combate previously reported that a bout between Christian Colombo and Carlos Felipe had been added to the UFC Fight Night 119 card.
