Jared Cannonier ran through short-notice newcomer Nick Roehrick with a dominant three round performance at the TUF 25 Finale.

Nick Roehrick began the TUF 25 Finale fight aggressively, swinging a right hand that hit air. Jared Cannonier began to land more consistently behind Roehrick’s bum rushes. Cannonier backed Roehrick to the fence and unloaded a combination that rocked the newcomer.

Cannonier’s right hand kept sneaking through and bloodied Roehrick. Cannonier pressed forward with another combination and went to the body. Roehrick seemed to be just out of range of his opponent.

Roehrick’s corner called for a takedown, but the fighter did not seem interested in forcing a clinch exchange until Cannonier exposed his back with 30 seconds left in the first. Roehrick clinched up but made no headway taking the bout to the ground. The pair separated and the first round came to a close.

Cannonier came out in round two with a bit more swagger, dropping his hands and shuffling his feet. Whenever Roehrick would attempt to swing, Cannonier would blast him with a haymaker.

A heavy right hand landed for Cannonier and he pressed forward, taking Roehrick down. Cannonier landed some ground and pound, and Roehrick stood up and ran from Cannonier.

Cannonier landed a huge left hand that cocked Roehrick’s head back. Props to Roehrick for lasting through many of “The Killa Gorilla’s” haymakers through ten minutes.

Cannonier’s output slowed to start the final round. He must have been waiting for the right opportunity though, as the Alaskan landed a head kick that sent Roehrick stumbling. Cannonier chased and landed a right hand to body knee combo. Cannonier smashed Roehrick with a right elbow over the top and Roehrick tried to take down his foe while clearly rocked. Cannonier took down the debutant into half guard, smashed him with a pair of elbows, moved to the mounted crucifix, landed another elbow that forced Big John McCarthy to stop the fight.

Jared Cannonier successfully bounced back from his one-sided loss to Glover Teixeira with an extraordinarily dominant performance. While a rebooking of the originally scheduled bout between Steve Bosse and Cannonier would satisfy bloodthirsty fans, Cannonier called out newly-signed striking legend Gokhan Saki. Yes please.
