Captain St. Pierre Informs Michael Bisping That He’s Ready To Fight – Any Time After October

Georges St. Pierre has put the brakes on any hope of his middleweight title fight with Michael Bisping happening this Summer. In a new video posted to his official Twitter account, the former welterweight champ states that he has “cleared my entire schedule to get ready for training camp after the Summer.” As a result, “I can fight you any time after October – pick the date.”

Yikes. St. Pierre delivered the message while dressed in a Captain America shirt. The French Canadian fighter previously appeared in Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

It’s likely not the timeframe that Bisping, or fans, had in mind. Talk of the two meeting up in the octagon began last year, though really heated up in the past few months. Bisping (30–7) has not fought since defeating Dan Henderson in a rematch of their UFC 100 bout at UFC 204 last October.

St. Pierre (25–2), meanwhile, walked away from the sport in 2013 after a close unanimous decision win over Johny Hendricks. The welterweight legend has not fought since.

Guess that gives Bisping more time for his podcast.
