A pair of fights have been officially announced for UFC Vegas 119 on June 20.
The Fight Night card, set for the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, is a month away, and headlined by flyweight contenders Kyoji Horiguchi and Manel Kape.
That main event bout will now be joined by Ion Cutelaba vs. Navajo Stirling at light heavyweight, plus Bia Mesquita vs. Melissa Mullins, a women’s bantamweight pairing.
UFC officials announced the addictions on social media on Wednesday.
Mesquita (7-0) is the only ranked fighter among the foursome, holding the #15 spot at 135lbs. A former LFA champion, the Brazilian is 2-0 under the UFC banner, having won both of her fights via rear-naked choke.
A highly decorated BJJ world champion, Mesquita could find herself on the fast track in the sparsely populated women’s bantamweight division with continued success.
Opponent Mullins (7-2) is 2-2 under the UFC banner, and has not fought since last June. She had a fight on the books back in March, only for opponent Luana Carolina to miss weight.
Mullins has stayed busy however, competing for ADCC in grappling last year.
Ion Cutelaba (20-11-1, 1NC) will enter his fight with Stirling off a win over Oumar Sy, while Stirling (9-0) himself remains undefeated. He’s 4-0 in the UFC and most recently stopped Bruno Lopes.
