Raja Jackson, son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, could be in a whole lot of hot water moving forward.

During an independent pro wrestling show lived streamed on KICK on Saturday, the younger Jackson, an MMA fighter himself, entered the ring in what appears to be either an unscripted segment, or a work (pro wrestling angle) gone horribly wrong.

Jackson immediately scooped up one performer, identified online as Syko Stu (Stewart Smith), and slammed him— which, up to that point, might have been part of the show. However, the 15 to 20 or so clean, undefended punches that followed, which saw the downed man knocked unconscious while continuing to absorb more damage, were clearly not. Multiple wrestlers then jumped in the ring to try and restrain Raja.

The footage, to say the least, is disturbing from both a pro wrestling and MMA context, if it’s not in fact a very well-scripted work.

Footage filmed prior to the event shows Syko Stu smashing a beer can over Raja’s head, then questioning why he doesn’t “sell” it (act hurt or injured), in an attempt to set up a storyline with the fighter. Other wrestlers then inform Stu that Raja isn’t a “worker” (it’s unclear why Raja Jackson was on hand for the event, mingling with performers beforehand). Stu is later seen apologizing several times over the incident.

Rampage Jackson has since released a statement condemning his son’s actions at the Knokx Pro Wrestling event.

“I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed (sic) that the wrestler ( Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable. Raja was unexpectedly hit in the side of the head by him moments before Smith’s match, Raja was told that he could get his ‘payback’ in the ring, I thought it was apart of the show. It was bad judgement, and a work that went wrong,” Rampage wrote on social media. “Raja is a MMA fighter not a pro wrestler and had no business involved in an event like this. I don’t condone my son’s actions AT ALL! He suffered a concussion from sparring only days ago and had no business doing anything remotely close to physical contact. As a father, I’m deeply concerned with his health AND the well being of Mr. Smith. That being said I’m very upset that any of this happened, but my main concern now is that Mr. Smith will make a speedy recovery. I apologize on his behalf and to KICK for the situation.”

Raja Jackson went 4-0 as an amateur in MMA before losing his pro debut in 2023. He was set to return in the cage this past May, set to face Raheem Gilliam at an LXF event, only for his opponent to withdraw from the fight.

Footage captured after Saturday’s incident shows Raja Jackson discussing the altercation in a phone call with an unidentified party. It’s unclear who filmed the footage, or why Jackson would even allow it to be released, as it appears to be someone with the fighter recording the conversation with a cell phone.
