Shara Magomedov, “We’ll remember (DDP’s) name with two-seconds of silence”

UFC middleweight Shara Magomedov isn’t dwelling on losing his undefeated record last time out only on the next fight against Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

“I never really was worried about that 0 as much as possibly my fans were worried about that 0 and the fact that I was undefeated,” Magomedov told reporters through a translator on Wednesday.

“It just happened that I lost, but we understand what happened. We learned from that and keep moving forward.”

Magomedov (15-1) gets Barriault in Abu Dhabi. Barriault is coming off a brutal knockout victory over Bruno Silva at UFC 315 in May.

“I like when I get pressured in that way because once I see that danger, once I see that coming towards me, I get some sort of like a predatory feeling. A feeling of trying to liquidate this pressure, this danger, that’s coming towards me,” he said.

“I think this way it pressures me to show all of the aspects and make sure with all the aspects that I have to dismantle this pressure that’s coming towards me.”

This fight comes weeks before Dricus du Plessis defends his title against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 319 in August. Shara ‘Bullet’ made his prediction in a way only he could.

“As I said before Dricus is in very good, strong, hands in this fight,” he said.

“We’ll make sure to remember his name with two seconds of silence afterwards.”
