Ahead of Saturday’s Oktagon 73, the biggest story was arguably struggles at the scale.

Friday’s official weigh-in had been a disaster, with two big fights both seeing a fighter miss weight. While Robert Pukač coming in heavy did little to impact the main event, outside of costing him some money, Beno Adamia vs. Zhalgas Zhumagulov was another story. The reigning Oktagon MMA flyweight champion, Adamia hit the scales heavy, and was stripped of his title as a result. No longer reigning, in other words, and only Zhumagulov, whose UFC run was all but cursed, will be eligible to win the title.
