It’s not quite 14 for 14, but at UFC 313, Justin Gaethje earned his 14th post-fight bonus in fourteen fights with the promotion.
Gaethje and fellow lightweight co-headliner Rafael Fiziev battled it out for three rounds, with “The Highlight” landing a knockdown mid-fight. While he couldn’t put Fiziev away in the pair’s rematch (Justin also won their first encounter, in 2023), Gaethje came away with a unanimous decision victory after an explosive 15 minutes, and a Fight of the Night bonus.
UFC President and CEO Dana White announced the news during Saturday’s UFC 313 post-fight press conference, with Cageside Press on hand. Total gate was announced as $10.1 million U.S, care of a sold out attendance of 18,869.
For Gaethje, Saturday’s bonus is as mentioned his 14th under the promotional banner. That’s actually spread across 12 fights, with the former BMF champ having doubled up on bonuses twice- against Michael Johnson in 2017, Gaethje’s UFC debut, and Tony Ferguson in 2020. He did not earn bonuses in his fights with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Charles Oliveira.
Performance of the Night bonuses at UFC 313 were awarded to Ignacio Bahamondes and Mauricio Ruffy. Brazil’s Ruffy absolutely floored King Green (formerly Bobby Green), who was left face down, out cold care of a spinning wheel kick. As for Bahamondes, he caught Jalin Turner in an opening-round triangle choke. Turner appeared to announce his retirement after the fight, but was possibly walked back by his team.
