UFC Vegas 102 is a little lighter.
The Fight Night event takes place Saturday (that would be February 15) at the UFC Apex, headlined by middleweights Jared Cannonier and Gregory Rodrigues. Earlier in the night, Jared Gordon was to have faced off against Kauê Fernandes, but visa issues bounced Fernandes from the fight.
Taking his place on short notice was newcomer Mashrabjon Ruzibaev. However, Ruzibaev failed to weigh in on Friday at the UFC Vegas 102 official weigh-in. Jared Gordon did hit the scales, and made weight, after which, the fight was announced as cancelled to due a Ruzibaev illness.
No details have emerged as of yet as to the nature of the illness, and whether or not it was related to Ruzibaev’s weight cut.
Gordon hit the scale at 156lbs. He hasn’t competed since a loss to Nasrat Haqparast last June, so hopefully he gets paid something for his efforts.
