Bellator Dublin goes down June 22, 2024, and will feature two title fights – one of which was announced on Friday, and sees the first title defense by 170lb champ Jason Jackson.
The promotion’s welterweight title will be on the line Jackson takes on undefeated contender Ramazan Kuramagomedov in the main event of the Dublin card. Promotion officials announced the match-up on Friday.
A second title fight is expected to be announced at a later date.
Jason Jackson, known as “The Ass-Kicking Machine,” captured the company’s 170lb title by defeating the juggernaut that is Yaroslav Amosov last November at Bellator 301. At the time, Ukraine’s Amosov, who took a break from fighting to help in the war effort against Russia, had been on a 27-0 run to start off his pro fighting career, a streak unseen outside of Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Few expected Jackson to knock out the unbeaten champ, but that’s exactly what played out. Jackson returned at the PFL vs. Bellator Champions card in February, defeating former PFL champ Ray Cooper III.
Jason Jackson also holds notable wins over Neiman Gracie, Jordan Mein, Paul Daley, and ex-champ Douglas Lima, among others. He currently sits on an eight-fight win streak.
As for Ramazan Kuramagomedov, his 12-0 record includes stops on the Contender Series, UAE Warriors, and now Bellator, where he is 2-0 thus far. He holds wins over Jaleel Willis, John “Doomsday” Howard, and others.
Kuramagomedov also made a one-off appearance for the Professional Fighters League, who now own and operate Bellator under the Bellator Champions Series banner, in 2018.
Bellator Dublin on June 22, 2024 takes place at the 3Arena, with more bouts expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
