Kyler Phillips On Possibility Of Fighting Teammate O’Malley, “We will see.”

Miami, FL – UFC bantanweight Kyler Phillips sort of tip toed around the possibility of fighting teammate and current champion Sean O’Malley if he continued to rise through the ranks.

“Things happen. Things are going to happen. Whatever happens. There’s so many at the (MMA) Lab too. We’ve got so many dudes. You got Mario Bautista as well. Whatever happens, we’re fighting, we’re training, we’re making money,” Phillips told reporters including Cageside Press on Wednesday.

“We’re representing our team. We’ll see. We will see.”

Phillips (11-2) gets a marquee matchup with Pedro Munhoz at UFC 299 on Saturday night.

“Another tough dude that’s got so much accolades, so much skill set, and a lot of time and experience in the game. It’s just another opportunity for me to literally just be the best version of myself,” Phillips said.

Munhoz is a tough fight for anybody, but Phillips sees the fight more about himself than his opponent.

“There’s so many different things that could happen all in basically in my fight game. I think I’m just going to let it all play and there’s so many different things that I’ll be able to do to him on my speed, on my timing, on my territory, in my time and in my octagon,” he said.

“I just need to make sure that I’m there and that’s my job.”
