The UFC returns to the Apex after a couple of weeks on the road for UFC Vegas 87, featuring heavyweights Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Shamil Gaziev atop the card.
This Fight Night event was originally expected to be the debut of the UFC in Saudi Arabia, but conflicting reports had the Kingdom either asking for a better line-up, or the UFC voluntarily rescheduling their Saudi debut for later this year, when bigger stars would be available.
Either way, the end result was the event being shifted to the UFC Apex. In truth it’s a bit of an afterthought stuck between UFC 298, UFC Mexico City, and the absolutely stacked UFC 299 in Miami a week later. But beyond a ho-hum heavyweight headliner are some promising debuts, including Bekzat Almakhan, who has the less-than-enviable task of making his UFC debut against the undefeated Umar Nurmagomedov.
