Popular Australian big man Tai Tuivasa will return to action this February, taking on Poland’s Marcin Tybura in a battle of ranked heavyweights.
Tuivasa (14-6) versus Tybura (24-8) was announced on Tuesday by UFC officials, with the fight taking place at UFC 298 in Anaheim, CA. The card looks to have a strong Australia-New Zealand contingent, with Alexander Volkanovski headlining the event opposite Ilia Topuria. Justin Tafa also features.
Tuivasa will be looking to snap a three-fight skid in the bout, which has seen him drop fights to Ciryl Gane, Sergei Pavlovich, and Alexander Volkov. Prior to his current slump, however, “Bam Bam” had racked up five straight wins, with three straight Performance of the Night bonuses.
Tybura is coming off a loss to Tom Aspinall, and is 2-2 in his last four. He’s ranked at #10 in the UFC’s heavyweight division, while Tuivasa sits at the #9 spot.
UFC 298 takes place on February 17, 2024 at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The following bouts have been reported for the event:
