Jalin Turner “Didn’t Have A Choice” To Not Take Green Fight

Austin, TX – UFC lightweight Jalin Turner comes in on short notice against Bobby Green at UFC Austin on Saturday night.

The way Turner made it sound, however, he had no choice.

“Feeling like I didn’t have a choice not to take it,” Turner told reporters on Wednesday.

Turner had mentioned that the UFC called him a couple of times offering him the fight. The first call Turner turned the fight down, but the second call was a little more persuasive.

“Yeah for the most part, yeah,” he said insinuating that the second call was the one not giving him a choice. Maybe there was a pay bump in negotiations?

“They had already threw that at me when I said no the first time.”

Turner seemed almost reluctant to take the fight, but now he’s in Austin ready to go against Green.

“I’m ready to fight! That’s it. I got to do my job,” he said with a laugh.

“I’m ready to get this weight off then go handle business.”

With a win over Green it’s possible that “The Tarantula” is looking for a big fight next and possibly at the upcoming UFC 300 card.

“I’m not trying to look too far into the future, but I know (Dan) Hooker said he wanted to fight on UFC 300. We can get that, run that back. I think everybody would like that,” he said.
