Bellator middleweight contender Fabian Edwards has signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion.

Despite the uncertain future of the promotion, the Brit has decided to sign a new multi-fight deal with the Bellator as he chases a second middleweight title shot.

“The Assassin” recently fought for the 185lb strap, but the champion, Johnny Eblen, retained the title with a third round knockout at Bellator 299 in Dublin.

Prior to that, Edwards scored several impressive victories over the likes of Lyoto Machida and Gegard Mousasi, which ultimately earned him his title fight in September.

Since the loss, the 30-year-old has made it clear that he will not be deterred by the loss and will aim to work his way back up to a title shot.

In a post on his Instagram account, Edwards stated that he wants three fights in 2024, which will be culminated by another title fight with who he hopes will be Eblen.

Earlier this week, Paramount announced that they were closing down Showtime Sports amid the rumours of Bellator’s sale. Ultimately, that has only heightened rumours of Bellator’s impending sale, with it increasingly likely that the PFL will strike a deal.

Bellator’s next event will be Bellator 301 on Friday, November 17, when welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov will look to defend his title against Jason Jackson.
