Bantamweight action has been booked as part of the UFC’s November 18, 2023 Fight Night card in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Set for the UFC Apex, the bout will see Contender Series alumni clash as Jose Johnson (15-8) faces off with Canada’s Chad Anheliger (12-6).
Iridium Sports Agency, who represent Johnson, announced the booking on Friday. Johnson later confirmed the match-up.
Both fighters will be looking to return to the win column in the bout. After winning his promotional debut against Jesse Strader in February 2022, Anheliger returned to action that September, coming up short against Alateng Heili. Dropping a unanimous decision in that fight, the 36-year old fighting out of Calgary, Alberta has not competed since.
Johnson was the unfortunate victim of a Da’Mon Blackshear Twister submission last month — a memorable and unfortunate way to lose your UFC debut.
Headlined by a middleweight scrap featuring ex-LFA champ Brendan Allen and former ranked light heavyweight Paul Craig, the UFC’s November 18, 2023 card features the following reported match-ups:
