A former competitor on Dana White’s Contender Series, Charlie Campbell came up short on the show, but he’s getting his shot in the UFC regardless this Saturday. Champbell is set to face the returning Alex Reyes, out for a full six years, at Noche UFC on Saturday. The card is headlined by a women’s flyweight title fight between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko.

How Campbell will fare in the UFC:

Campbell is the type of fighter that you want to watch every time out, because he’s certain to bring the pain. Campbell is a fighter’s fighter who will never be in a boring fight if it’s up to him. Campbell is solely a striker so shooting takedowns is something he won’t be doing. Although Campbell is capable of giving us big knockouts he’s also vulnerable to being knocked out as well. Campbell is constantly inflicting damage and it starts with frequent heavy leg kicks. He will chase guys down dipping side to side and throwing bombs. Campbell is definitely wild when rushing in but he has so much power that it just takes one landing to make a difference. He will also chase the body shots as he’s coming forward. He has a controlled chaos style about him. His shot selection, power, and his ability to mix up the leg kicks, bodywork, and overhands is super dangerous.

I love this signing because Campbell is going to provide us with some exciting fights. I can’t see him ever being ranked because he’s too reckless. I definitely see him being a fixture of the lightweight division because he’s bound to be a fan favorite.

How he matches up with Reyes:

How can anyone pick Reyes in this fight? Reyes hasn’t fought in six years and his only fight in the UFC was a knockout loss to Mike Perry. He’s also coming off a spinal infection that sidelined him for years. Reyes arguably wasn’t even UFC level when he signed, so there’s no way he is with so much ring rust. The pick is Charlie Campbell by knockout.
