The Ultimate Fighter 31 alum Landon Quinones made his promotional debut at UFC 293 in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, drawing a tough match-up against well-travelled lightweight Nasrat Haqparast.

Quinones was throwing a lot of volume early on to start the fight, throwing a lot of kicks and mixing up his attack. He kept Haqparast guessing doing a good job just staying busy. Chopping the legs with kicks and throwing the hooks to the body, Quinones was going after it. He wasn’t throwing with as much power, as Haqparast landed the harder shots. Haqparast got more comfortable as the round went on as he was landing the combinations and finding the headshots. Both guys were busted up to end the round.

Round two started and Quinones landed an outside leg kick that sent Haqparast shooting. Quinones defended and went right back to the heavy leg kick. Haqparast was throwing some power shots, and Quinones just took everything. He did land a big power shot that backed up Quinones. Haqparast went after Quinones throwing big looping punches. Quinones was composed and fired back. The biggest difference was Quinones was mixing it up much better up high and down low. Haqparast ended the round in a big way putting Quinones against the cage and landing some big punches.

In the final round, Haqparast was the aggressor putting Quinones against the cage and ripping body shots. He was having Quinones cover up as he was just destroying the body. Quinones was taking some big shots but kept up the volume while showing crazy toughness. He kept letting Haqparast push him against the cage and letting Haqparast rip combinations. In a crazy fight, they both slugged it out to the final bell — with Haqparast’s power and the damage his inflicted as the fight wore on earning the decision.

Official Result: Nasrat Haqparast def. Landon Quinones by unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
